Heads up - Automatically downloaded updates from Cisco.com going away

Please be advised, the automated software distribution services will no longer be available from March 1st (2022) forward. The following devices are affected:

  • RV260/RV160 series
  • RV34x series
  • Cisco Business Wireless (CBW) access points

There is a simple workaround available for CBW. Though the routers will need to be updated manually. For more information see the article linked below:

Automated Software Distribution for Cisco Business Devices

Edit: Adding steps to clarify the process of updating:

1. You'll need to unzip the zip file, to upload the mesh extender (if you have any ) image

2. Select http transfer method, toggle the mesh extender update > complete the predownload for the extenders

3. Refresh the page, toggle off the mesh extender option to allow for browsing for the AP image within the unzipped folder

It wasn't as straightforward as asking the AP to reach out to Cisco.com.

When I try to follow that link I'm presented with a login page that does not accept my existing cisco.com credentials (which I used to log into this forum).

That links works, thanks.
