WAP321, STA is leaving IBSS or ESS

Hello all,

Been using the WAP321, 2 of them in our home for quite some times but about once a week and today 3x after eachother i see this in the logs:

What could be the reason of this? Our macbooks/iphones completely disconnect and then 10 secs later reconnect, while working on them.

It looks like your WAP may be set to auto mode for the channel. You will get disconnects like that when the WAP automatically changes  channels then once it is set the wireless device(PC, MAC, etc) will  automatically reconnect. If the WAP is in a congested wireless environment, then your WAP could spend more time hopping channels than allowing connections.

Chk that and if it is set it to a static channel and see if the same thing still occurs.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for the fast reply

We already have static channels set on each Access point, 11 and 6 on the second.

They are in single point setup mode but i dont have auto assign channels enabled.

Automatically re-assigning channels << disabled.

So I guess that cant be it.

I came across the same problem as you. I was connecting a wireless client that did not support 802.11n to my radio broadcasting 2.4GHz. Normally, 802.11n broadcasting on a 2.4GHz radio is backward compatible with 802.11b/g clients, but for performance, I had my 2.4GHz radio only set to 802.11n. Which was causing these same errors: " deauthed from BSSID [RADIO MAC] reason 3: STA is leaving IBSS or ESS".

Hello all,

I had the same issue with some laptop into my company with WAP371.

I have solve the problem by changing 2.4Ghz mode to 802.11b/g only. It works great for all computers now!
