Dear Community,

I have consoled into an 1131AG LWAPP but i can get past the user exec mode > . I have checked the doc on the default password "Cisco" which is case sensitive and commands are not available in this mode to erase private-config file.I have reset the controller to factory but still i am prompted with the password which by default should be cisco. Please assist.

Thank you all.

Regards,

Isaac.

Lightweight AP's don't have enable mode. Configuration is done on the controller. If you want an autonomous AP, you will have to convert that to autonomous.

Scott,

This is exactly what i am trying to achieve(converting to autonomous mode) but the commands to convert the lwapp aren't in the default mode, there is higher mode(privilege/global) i think.I will keep troubleshooting. Thanks for insights.

Regards,

Isaac.

You use the mode button on the read of the AP by the console/Ethernet port.

Search for lightweight to autonomous mode button.

You will find a bunch of information on this. There is no enable.

Scott,

Meanwhile i have been trying to work with 1572(changing to autonomous mode) but whenever the files are extracting the bvi interface changes to dhcp and the message "premature end of tar file" is seen.I configure the bvi interface to static but changes to dhcp every time.I am using generic tftpserver32.I have verified the file in a router(md5) and its fine. Please assist.Thanks.

Regards,

Isaac.

Scott,

Figured it out it was the default-gateway ip that had to be set(1572).Thanks.

Regards

Most AP's you would use the mode button to upload the image to the AP via tftp. This is the easiest way to upload any image to an AP.
