Hello all-
I have an 1142 AP that I am unable to set back to factory defaults.
Here is what I have done so far:
- boot AP while holding down the mode button
- ap: delete flash:private-multiple-fs
- yes
- ap: boot
- when the AP boots fully I try and enter any lwap ap commands and get "ERROR!!! Command is disabled"
- the AP name and password were reset to defaults but I am unable to get the IP address cleared.
I've also tried "clear lwapp private-config" and get an error saying the command is disabled.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

mhhh, just shooting a possibility : have you tried "capwap" instead of "lwapp" in the commands ?

Yes, I've tried both capwap and lwapp commands and get the same error on both that the command is disabled. It acts like an AP that is still associated to a controller because it won't let me enter commands, but the AP is not associated to a controller or even on the network.

Yea, that error command comes to play when the controller hits the controller for the first time. After that teh WLC finds the controller and it blocks it out.
A few things you could try.
1) Set it back to autonomous then back to CAPWAP
2) if you join the access to to the WLC and set the "global" password to something other than cisco cisco you will be able to delete the config. Cisco blocks the access point config with the cisco cisco logon.

Something is not right here ... Can during the "mode" button proceedure can you post the entire console output?
