Here is a question. Can you use the 802.11a radio's on a 1200 to link to a 1400?

No. The 1200 AP can be a Access Point Root or non-Root repeater.
The 1410 Bridge can be a Root or non-Root Bridge.
The 350 Bridge allowed you to serve as an AP or a Bridge, the newer products do not allow for that.

if the 1200 has a "a" radio set to root/non-root bridging, will it communicate with a 1410?
The current IOS allows bridging in the 1200 series. Is it the same frequency as the 1400 series?
