Dear all.
My customer returned me a malfunctioning Cisco 1242AG access point. In the end of initialization process I see all three LEDs are solid red. I revealed that this due to the corrupted IOS image. I reflashed the AP via TFTP server to firmware version c1240-k9w7-tar.124-3g.JA1, after this the AP successfully booted up, I can access it via CLI and via Web interface. However, I've noticed that when I created an SSID, attach it to 11g (or 11a) radio interface and then enable the radio the AP begins to restart every 5 minutes and the radio does not work (administratively down). I reflashed the unit to c1240-k9w7-tar.124-10b.JDA firmware, but it did not help. Also the AP is rather hot when it is powered up.
PS. I use non Cisco PoE adapter to power up the AP.
Please advise.
Regards
Alexei

This MAY be becuase how its configured. Did you configure an OPEN ssid with no security for test purposes? Also, can you post your full config so we can take a peek ?
Thanks

so if your AP reboots every 5 minutes do you see any crashinfo files/subdirectory? If you do, can you post them?

Dear George.
Thanks for your reply.
I use no encryprion at all.
I attach:
1) The log file from AP when Ethernet link is plugged in PoE adapter and AP is pingable from the network.
After scanning frequencies AP reboots.
2) Log with error message when when Ethernet link is unplugged in PoE adapter and AP only receives power from PoE adapter. I see that 11g interface is up, then an error message and then

How can I get the contents of flash:/r0.rcore file? Is it "show crash" command?
3) The configuration of AP
PS. When I disable 11g interface, the AP does not reboot
Sincerely yours
Alexei

Sounds like your 802.11b radio has failed OR you're hitting an IOS bug and causing your radio to fail. 12.4(10b) is not a new version. Upgrade to a newer one and see if you are still having problems.
If you do, then you need to RMA the WAP.

Hi all
I've upgraded to c1240-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA1 but the issue did not resolve. The same behaviour is observed.
No other hints?
