Hi all!
Historically, Cisco has used the same LED color schemes to indicate status of the AP, i.e. solid green = ready to go, solid blue = at least one connected client, et. al.
Lately, I have deployed 1702i's on a 2504 WLC running firmware version 8.0.115.0. When clients connect to the AP's, the LED's stay solid green. I re-created this scenario by connecting a 1702i to my 5508 WLC running firmware version 8.0.115.0, and got the same results.
Is the 1702i running on different LED codes? Or is this a fluke based upon the WLC or AP firmware version?
Incidentally, the same 1702i that I connected to my 5508, I also connected to my 3850 switch running IOS-XE 03.06.00E, glows amber with a connected client.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions/information.
Kevin

The design of the 1600 and 1700 calls for a single-coloured LED only.

Thanks, Mohanak,
I guess I never even considered the "Getting Started" guide. doh!

I am curious why Cisco decided to change things up; historically "blue" indicates connectivity.

One word: COST.
To keep the cost of the AP 1K, aka 1600 and 1700, the design for the LED was intentionally specified as a single-colour only.

Hi. Sometimes I've got the AP with the BLUE led indicator, and sometimes green.
Well, when I got green led status I've one or more client connected.
whe I got blue led status, I've lots of client connected, and usually the AP is loaded with 30 clients or more..
although I coundn't find are these values in the datasheets!

I have faced a problem to get access to Cisco Aironet provision mode (CLI Config), my troubleshooting steps are listed below :
1- I have connected a the AP to Cisco switch via Ethernet cable to power it over PoE.
2-I have made a RESET form mode button then blinking has been changed from Green to Amber as usual.
3-When I make the connecting the connection between the PC serial port & AP Console port via USB-RJ45 console cable I'm getting the access to provision cmd window but when I press Enter or any Key there is no response or some times it shows some random letters, numbers & symbols.
4-I have used the same way to get the access to the Switch, then it has been done successfully.
5-I have tried the same scenario for four different APs, no thing has been changed (same problem).
For your advice please.
Best Regards,
Mohammed Al-Numany
