1800 AP - Boost Coverage

Hi Guys.

We have this 1800 AP installed in the corridor. We noted that within the 15 Meters radius, inside the office, the signal strength drops to 1 bar only. I would also state that the walls are reflective in nature as well.

In order to increase the signal strength in the furthest office, I am thinking of the following:

1. Relocate the existing AP about 1 Meters towards the office to check for the coverage.

Please if some one can assist if there is any way possible to boost the coverage from the 1800 without installing installing boosters or another AP near the furthest office.

Regards

APs in the hallway/corridor is "old school".

All the more reason why APs need to be in the rooms.

Wrong.

Get a wireless site survey done correctly.

I agree with Leo once again:) Also, one bar is nothing. Ask your self what is your requirements for wireless coverage and determine then if all locations have that coverage or not. Hallway coverage is very “old school” and coverage in the offices will change if the door is open or closed, where they might have obstruction like TV screens, whiteboards, etc. to provide more coverage, means additional access points. Which also means move existing if needed.
