I am trying to convert a 1830 from capwap to mobility express.  I tried three differnt methods I found online:

1) ap-type mobility-express tftp://x.x.x.x/AIR-AP1830-K9-8-5-105-0.tar

2) ap-type mobility-express tftp://x.x.x.x/ap1g4

3) archive download-sw /reload tftp://x.x.x.x/AIR-AP1830-K9-8-5-105-0.tar

All are failing:

AP80E8.6FD6.0188#archive download-sw /reload tftp://x.x.x.x/AIR-AP1830-K9-8-5-105-0.tar

Image downloaded, writing to flash...
do PREDOWNLOAD, part1 is active part
tar: write error: No space left on device

AP80E8.6FD6.0188#ap-type mobility-express tftp://x.x.x.x/ap1g4
Starting the ME image download...
It may take a few minutes to finish download.
If it is longer, please abort command, check network connection and try again
Image downloaded, writing to flash...
do NORMAL, part1 is active part
tar: write error: No space left on device

The reason the conversion is not working is because of bug CSCuz81074.

You will need to upgrade the AP to 8.5.105.0 then you can convert the AP to ME.

To upgrade the AP to 8.5.105.0:

* Download the lightweight image for the AP.
* Upgrade the AP from CLI using the following command: #archive download-sw /reload tftp://x.y.z.h/image-name
* This will upgrade the AP and reload it.
* Then you can do the conversion.

This doesn't help. I have a 2802i with Mobility Express, I'm trying to upgrade from 8.3 to 8.5. It says the disk is full. It goes all the way to 100% during transfer (or so it seems) but then it says file size doesn't match.
Same thing when trying to upgrade via ME GUI.
Also:
It doesn't seem possible to even delete files from the AP with the "delete" command.
Like "delete /rf flash:" or even just "delete flash:config" doesn't work:
ap2800#delete flash:config
