Hello,
Is it possible to use the same DHCP pool on external DHCP-server for both WLC controllers? I've read that it is recommended to split the pool for internal dhcp server, but what about an external one?
the other question is - the second wlc-controller is going to be a backup one. Can I use the same VLAN and the same WLAN on both controllers?
thanks in advance.
regards,
Mariya.

You can share an external DHCP server and the same pool for several wireless controllers.
You can use the same VLAN and the same SSID on all controllers. In fact you should use the same SSID and VLAN if you want to use the same DHCP pool on the external DHCP server. You should also configure the same AP group on both controllers.
For redundancy you can use both controllers as active. Let’s say you have 50 access points then you need two controllers with licenses for 50 access point. In normal operation you can have 25 access points on each of the controllers. If one of the controllers fails then the access points move to the one that is operational, and you then have 50 access points on one controller.
