2800 APs and 3800 Controller - Unable to connect the wifi via iPhone

Hi Guys,

I have a situation where my users cannot connect their WIFI/SSID using their iPhone. However, for android users they have no issue with the wifi; I believe their iPhone has updated with the latest IOS version.

The current firmware version of my Controller 3800 and AP 2800 are 8.5.131.0.

Appreciate your ideas and thoughts.

will it automatically upgrade my APs as well?
No.  Mobility Express does not store all AP images like regular WLC.
You must provide the images on a TFTP server and configure the TFTP server details on the Mobility Express controller.  Otherwise you'll need to upgrade each AP manually.

Plenty of other guides and videos too if you search.

Hi @marce1000

appreciate your help on this. I did perform the upgrade based on your ideas and recommendation. Really appreciate it.

However seems like the upgrade failed based on the screenshot attached. Im not too sure is it related with tftp blocksize or whatelse? because based on my observation, from the TFTP the process kept restarting after reaching approximately 30%. This cycle continued repeatedly for the entire 12-hour process.  I’ve attached the updated logs from TFTP for your further reference. Any ideas how to solve this?

@AlfianZaini Please provide more detail about how SSID is configured ? Is it wpa2 personal or wpa3 personal? or wpa2 enterprise?

As a general recommendation always go with supported code version.
Latest supported (8.10.196.0)

Reboot the APs.

It is not working in my case

What error message did the Apple clients report.

Do a debug one of the Apple wireless client attempts to authenticate.  Post the complete debug.
