hello, Experts!
125 Cisco 3500 series ap's, registered on 5508 code 7.4.xxx
months passed, customer brought 75 more Cisco 3500 series... same model!
The 75 new ap's did not auto-registers to the wlc.
dhcp is working.......
wlc is reachable....
Manual registration works!
DNS discovery did the trick and customer was happy he won't be, manually, registering 75 new ap's.
What could be the issue why 125 auto-registered and the new 75 ap's did not?
Thanks!

Maybe the newly purchased APs are in the wrong regulatory domain.
Post the following command outputs:
1. WLC: sh sysinfo;
2. AP: sh version

hello, Leo!
both old and new ap's are in the same reg domain... E.
Part Number: AIR-CAP3502E-E-K9
hmmm... will provide the sh captures after visiting the customer again for the controller code upgrade.
until then, thanks for always replying.

The best thing to do is look at the output from the console of the access point. This will give you and us great information on what is going on. The other thing, are these ap's getting placed in the same site or a different site? Are the AP's on the same subnet as the existing ones? I say this, because there might be something blocking the join request or response.
Your best bet is to bring the AP's to the site that the WLC is on and connect them to the same vlan as the WLC management to prep them. Once they have joined, then you can move them to the location where they need to be installed.

how about your licensing? how many ap's support currently?

hi, d.ordonez!
no prob with license since after the DNS config all ap's were registered.
