3504 to 2504 failover

Hello,

We got existing 2504 and new 2 X 3504 controllers.

is it possible to AP fail-over from 3504 to 2504 ?,

what if 2504 in HA AP SSO mode ?.

is it possible for N+1 redundancy between 3504 and 2504 ?.

is it possible without converting 2504 to HA-SKU in AP High Availability configuration ?

your advice is appreciated.

The 2504 doesn’t support AP SSO, but the 3504 does.  It is possible to use both in an N+1, but why?  The 3504 can support up to 150 access points, more than the 75 that the 2504 can.  Here is a matrix that will show compatibility between hardware and code for mobility which is required for N+1.

yes but only in HA N+1 mode.

2504 dont support HA AP SSO.

yes but make sure that both matches the software version else evertime AP will need to dwonload the new software in cas eof failover (3504 start with 8.5 version and 2504 last support is 8.5)

NO its not a must but if you dont have any AP licens eon 2504 WLC then convert it HA SKU so that it can support 75 AP acces spoint (for 90 days if primary is down)

The 2504 ha-sku can’t be converted. The way you can tell is if you try to install license and it fails.
