As of 01 August 2017, Cisco hasn't officially released the EoS/EoL date but I personally suspect before the end of 2017 there will be one.
The final firmware to support 2504/5508/WiSM2 will be 8.5. 8.6 and later can only be supported by the 3504/5520/8540 generation of controllers.

Yesterday Cisco published the end-of-life announcement for the 5508 after being around for over more than 8 years... :-) AireOS 8.5 will be the latest supported release for this platform.
