5Ghz antennas to use with the AP1232AG

The new AP 1232AG at present covers the 5.15-5.35Ghz and the 5.725-5.825Ghz bands. Tocover the lower bands I can use the ANT5135,5145, or 5160 antennas, what can I use on the 5.725-5.825 bands, can I uae the AIR-ANT58G9VOA-N( normally used on the br1400)?

As there are two 5Ghz connections can I use a AIR-ANT5135D-R, AIR-ANT5145V-R, or a AIR-ANT5160V-R on one connection and a AIR-ANT58G9VOA-N on the other to cover the full 5GHz band?

thanks Richard.

According to this link:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6108/products_data_sheet0900aecd801b9068.html

The only antennas it's certified with are the 5135, 5145, or 5160.

As far as mixing antenna types; it usually not a good idea. the second antenna is there for "diversity" - a mechanism to reduce the impact of multipath ... only one antenna is on at a time,

Keep in mind that only one channel per band is used. Putting on one antenna for the lower part of the band and another for the higher end of the band only means that regardless of whichever channel is selected (manually or automatically), you will only have one (somewhat) optimized antenna available.

In that case, it'd be better to select a channel within the spectrum supported by the "approved" antennas, and use a pair of them to support diversity.

That's my .02

Scott

scott, thanks for your response.

do the 5135,5145 and 5160 work through the whole band from 5.1to 5.825 GHz?

if they do then there is no problem

Richard.
