I'm looking into upgrading current Cisco 1232 (G) to an (N) solution. Can I upgrade the 1232 with a radio change only or will the 1232 not accept the change? Will I have to replace the 1232 with a 1252.
If anyone has a white paper on this it would be very helpful.

Hi
There is no N module for 1232
You have to replace AP.

After a little bit of research I found this out. Thanks for your reply though.

There is no upgrade module to upgrade the 1232 to an N radio. I'm assuming the reason being is that older radios did not require multiple antenna connectors like the 1252 N Access Point needs. N radios need 3 Connectors per radio.

Actually, you can run 802.11n with 2 antennas (2x2 mode). But yes, the primary reason that 1232s cannot be upgraded is due to hardware restrictions.
