802.1x in WLC5500

Hi WLC 5500, there are two 802.1x in WLAN ---> Security. please picture attached. My question is what is difference between the two 802.1x? Thank you

The 802.1X under Layer 2 Security will only support WEP encryption (40 or 104bits), this should be avoided.

 

Using WPA/WPA2 for layer 2 will allow you to use a higher encryption cipher such as AES, this will allow you then to choose the authentication key management such as 802.1X.

WEP supported with shared authentication and with 802.1X. So if you select 802.1X as layer 2, it is for WEP. Below link should clarify it for you
