Trying to get a parts list together for a 9800 purchase. Account team is not getting back to us on these questions:
Do we need two DTLS licenses with 9800-40 SSO configuration?
Do the 9800s need DNA licenses as do the APs?
Thanks in advance.

The WLC needs to have AP license.

So for AP registration on 9800 , Do we require any license or not ? YES
If yes which one . We have mix of 2700 APs and 9100 series? The licenses are not model specific they are feature specific. All APs on the WLC must have the same feature level licenses. There are 2 levels - Essentials and Advantage. You buy them as term licenses although the network part is perpetual (remains valid even after the DNA term expires).

So you select AIR-DNA-A or AIR-DNA-E and then the term of the subscription you want to buy. The licenses are deposited in your smart licensing account then the WLC fetches them on-demand as APs join.
