AIR-AP2702I-B-K9 doesn't register on my WLC

My new AIR-AP2702I-B-K9 will not download image from WLC 5508 running Software version 7.6.130.0. I understand this AP is now B-domain compatible what would I do to get this work? Am currently running bunch of AIR-AP2702I-A-K9.Just to add this; AIR-AP2702I-B-K9 comes with IOS Version 15.3(3)JD while my running AIR-AP2702I-A-K9 has IOS Version 15.2(4)JB6. Thanks for you help

Use the compatability matrix to identify the appropriate version of code that will support your specific models of APs.

What’s New in Release 8.0.132.0

Support for –B Domain

The FCC (USA) rule making on 5 GHz released on April 1, 2014 (FCC 14-30 Report and Order) goes into effect for products that are sold or shipped on or after June 2, 2016. Cisco APs and Cisco WLCs will comply with the new rules by supporting the new regulatory domain (–B) for the US and will create new AP SKUs that are certified under the new rules. Examples of new rules include new 5-GHz band channels permitted for outdoor use, and transmission (Tx) power level increased to 1W for indoor, outdoor, and point-to-point transmissions.

Note Cisco APs and Cisco WLCs that are in the –A domain category can continue to operate and even coexist with –B domain devices without any issues.

We recommend that you upgrade Cisco APs and Cisco WLCs to the appropriate software release that supports –B domain.

Thanks, I was looking at a way to make this B-Domain AP function right  now before upgrading my WLC eventually later. Because of the nature of my establishment upgrading my WLC will require some bureaucracy.

I upgraded my WLC  code to version 8.0.140 and all the new APs are good to go. Thanks for your time.

Thanks, so if I download ap3g2-rcvk9w8-tar.152-4.JB6.tar and install on the B-Domain AP that will make this compatible with my current WLC version 7.6.130? supposed that's what you intend to pass across?

Thanks , I follow your steps on the blog on how to upgrade / convert but never couldn't get this 2702I work. Do i need  disable any config for TFTP to work with the AP? In the 1st place I couldn't ping my PC even after assigning IP on the interface g0 of AP with same subnet on my PC. Gateway also configured. I guess am a novice here can you guide me through please?  Meanwhile,Considering upgrading my WLC HA setup if this doesn't work but will prefer going through this manual image upload since the present  code is stable. Again I appreciate your ever reliable response.

Hi, try to configure IP interface in that way:

clear capwap ap ip address

clear capwap ap i default-gateway

capwap ap ip address [IP] [MASK]

capwap ap ip default-gateway [IP]

I appreciate your well informative blog/site but even though I couldn't just get this 2700I conversion working right. Am at the moment going to the direction of Upgrading my WLC code version from 7.6.130 to 8.0.140 but I have a quick question. Currently my wireless infrastructure is setup on HA with SSO enable. I understand that one can run into a problem if upgrade stages are not properly follow. From your experience what usually causes this hiccups in the course of upgrading , let say my WLC 5508 HA with SSO enable? Thanks for you usual prompt and direct comments.
