AIR-AP2802I with Mobility Express: WLC IP Address via DHCP?

Is it possible to assign the controller in Mobility Express an IP address via DHCP (reserve it afterwards or reconfigure it statically)?

I've found you can use DHCP for the management address in 8.7. I can't recall for earlier versions.

Mobility Express required two IPs, one for AP itself & another for WLC. Typically you will configure WLC IP statically through setup wizard.

Leave the AP IP to dhcp

Hi Rasika

thanks for your reply but I was explicitly asking if there is a possibility to assign the controller IP address by DHCP. I face a multisite enterprise network in which the wizard is not really a cool way to do the rather specific configuration. If I want to preconfigure and test the controllers at the central site a static IP address is not handy.

Cheers

Mat

Hi Matt,

Yes, In setup wizard, you have the option of setting it via DHCP as well

Management Interface IP Address Configuration [STATIC][dhcp]:

If you are staging them in central site, you have to go through wizard & leave it DHCP, Then find the MAC address of controller management interface & try to reserve IP from each branch dhcp pool.

What software version are you using? I have not had that option with 8.4.
