AP cant find controller

Hi 

I know there are some ways for a AP to join a controller, option 43 and a DNS name on the controller.

Another way is on the Accesspoint is define the controller via:

capwap ap controller ip address 1.2.3.4

But the Access Point cant download the software before it ask for a new ip address, and lose the controller ip address configuration.

Is there any way to disable the lose of the ip controller address ?

Only these ways are there:

0 - broadcast
1 - configured
2 - OTAP
3 - dhcp server
4 - dns

1. Is your AP and WLC in same subnet ??

2. Try to create a DHCP pool on core switch for APs to get IP and also configure DHCP option 43.
