We have several WLC 5508 running version 8.x connected to network with LAG. Until now we have only had one site (10.x.x.x), but now we would like to add a second site (192.168.x.x). I thought I could use the route-command to direct AP-traffic to the two gateways from the AP-managent interface, but understod that WLC route-config is only for the service-port. There is no configured route between the two sites so we have to have some sort of routing in the WLC:s. Is there any other way this could be acomplished?

This is not possible, the WLC is a layer 2 device and does not do any routing. As you found the "route" commands on the WLC are for forcing traffic to egress the service port.
You would need to have the site L3 do the routing between the sites.
