AP mode change and its no longer online

We have a 1262 which was loaded with some recovery image for testing.

After this, it doesn't get registered to the wireless controller.

we tried moving it back to autonomous mode and then again back to lightweight to have it join the controller.

But it doesnt join the controller, debugs on the devices does not show any logs.

Any ideas on how it can be restored back so it joins the controller.

Thanks in advance!

Well I believe there is two different recovery images. One is 12.x then other is 15.x. 15.x is required for 7.4. If your WLC is running 7.3 or lower, make sure your AP has 12.x. What I have done is just delete the image you don't need from flash.

delete /recursive flash:

this WLC is running 7.0.235 and the recovery image is 12.x.

a question here, do we need both a recovery image and a normal image without the rcvk in the image name.

what is the other way to get the AP register to the controller in this scenario.

Just the rcv image. Delete the others. Then make sure your following the steps to have the ap join.

Make sure the 12.x is a lightweight image. Maybe download the rcv image again and check the md5. Upload that to the AP and when the ap boots up issue: capwap ap controller ip address

In addition to Scott's post, may I request if you can post the following command outputs:

1.  WLC:  sh sysinfo;

2.  WAP:  sh version;

3.  WAP:  sh inventory
