Hi,
In an environment with two active WLC, if the AP multicast mode need to be enabled, the multicast address for both WLC need to be same address or both should use different address?
Thanks

You should never use the same multicast group address in two differnet controller. Always use unique group address in each controller

Plus 5 Ras !
When you share multicast ips with controllers you increase the size of that multicast ip domain .. Not good ... Let them be different .. It's ok .. Lol

HI Schwan,
Yes, Rasika is right
it is recommended that each controller in the network is configured with a different multicast group IP. The reason is because we want to avoid the multicast traffic on one controller flooding to all other controllers and APs in the network. The multicast group IP configured should be local only to one WLC and the APs registered to it.

Yes, if you are using multicast mode for WLC to AP communication then you have to enable multicast in your switch network where WLC & AP connected to.

Yes, it is right. You must use two multicast address group for 2 WLC's.
