Hi, I have an AP 1141N-A-K9, from autonomous system, with this IOS ( c1140-k9w7-mx.124-21a.JA1), and a WLC 5508 with Version 7.X

I want to convert this AP to ligthway to use with this controller.

I download de Version of IOS (c1140-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2.tar) from cisco and the upgrade tool. but when I start the process in the upgrade tool the result is "this version is not supported by the upgrade tool", it pass all the requested information but show this error at the end.

How can I do this change?

Thanks

Gonzalo.

Good grief Scott.  Give me a break.  I need to sleep!  LOL

Gonzalo,

I agree with Scott. Don't use the upgrade tool.  This method is easier:

1.  Use the archive command to "unpack" the IOS TAR file from your TFTP server to the WAP in question.  The command is:  archive download-sw /overwrite tftp:///IOS.TAR

2.  Reboot

3.  Tah-dah!

I nominate this link to be posted permanently on the CSC Mobility portal page with Leo's avatar beside it.
