AP1230 IOS TKIP, CKIP, PPK What is it?

Hello there!

I'm running an AP1230 with the latest IOS.

I wish to enable WEP 40 or 128 with TKIP. Mandatory!

If I'm not wrong I have to enable WEP Encryption and then enable Per Packet Keying PPK.

However I'm not sure if PPK is pure original TKIP compatible to non-Cisco clients or if this is CKIP which is Cisco's own version of CKIP and only Cisco cards or whoever has support for CCX will work.

Also How does CKIP work? How is it different than TKIP? I understood that original TKIP was supposed to rotate the key every 10,000 packets and not every single packet

Thanks,

Yes, you are right the TKIP is a cisco proprietary which is called CKIP. This is the only option currently available with cisco.
