AP1572EAC boot

bogdan.bugher

I want to change this device to work as standalone without an controller (autonomo).

I have the designated firmware on flash but I do not know how to change boot.

It seems that it does not work with usual Cisco command set boot

Does anybody  have an idea, how to do it?

Thanks,

 - Check this guide : https://semfionetworks.com/blog/convert-a-cisco-capwap-ap-to-a-mobility-express-ap/

It says that it does not now the command ap-type mobility-express

 - Sorry  about that , that model can only do autonomous indeed ; check :

Now, it does not recognize the part console cli from the following debug capwap console cli

          - Post screenshot of full command tried and the output returned from the AP.

  - In the first part of the screenshot the command seems to succeed ; whilst the help may cloak it (below)
Can you proceed with the rest of the procedure anyway as mentioned in :

                                                                              (does that work ?)

I have the designated firmware on flash but I do not know how to change boot.
What firmware file is that you are referring to?  Have you installed the software or have you just copied the tar file onto flash?
If you just have the tar file on flash then you need to "install" it: archive downld-sw flash:c1570-k9w7-tar.153-3.JPR.tar

That will extract the software from the tar file to flash and also set the boot variable for you.  After that you can reload and new software will be loaded.  Extracting the tar file takes a few minutes - don't be surprised when it looks like it's hanging when it gets to the main IOS file which is the largest single file - it's just very slow and will continue again after that file is extracted.

You can check the boot variable with "show boot"
If you wanted to set the boot variable manually yourself you would:
conf t
boot system flash:/<ios-path>/<ios-image-name>
end
