Good morning people,

We're having trouble communicating with Whatsapp,
We could not establish voice communication by whatsapp
The information that is popped (The network that connected these does not make calls by whatsapp)

I've tried to enable the doors in ASDM 5242, 4244, 5223, 5228, 3478,
and problem persists

Remember that internal communication is vialver but when we turn to a number that is associated with whatsapp and is out of the network not established communication.

It seems like the issue you’re facing is related to the firewall or network configuration blocking WhatsApp's voice communication protocols. Let’s troubleshoot step by step:

WhatsApp Port Configuration: Ensure that all necessary ports are open and properly forwarded. The essential ports for WhatsApp are:

TCP: 443, 5222, 5223, 5228
UDP: 3478–3481
Verify these are allowed in both inbound and outbound rules in ASDM.
NAT and Firewall Rules: Check if NAT traversal or firewall rules are restricting traffic to external WhatsApp servers. Configure your ASDM to allow traffic through these ports for the IP range used by WhatsApp servers.

Network Testing: Use tools like Wireshark to inspect the traffic. Ensure that packets to and from WhatsApp’s servers aren’t being blocked or dropped due to DPI (Deep Packet Inspection).

VPN or ISP Restrictions: Sometimes, ISPs block NA WhatsApp calls. Using a reliable VPN can bypass such restrictions and help in testing if this resolves the issue.

Updated Firmware: Ensure your ASDM is running the latest firmware version, as updates often fix compatibility issues with modern apps like WhatsApp.

Let me know how it goes after implementing these changes. If you need further details, feel free to ask. Also, I’d recommend documenting your configuration steps so that similar issues can be resolved more efficiently in the future.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

On this issue I would add up a suggestion that you check that access point has been configured with DNS server IP address. If access point has no DNS server IP then there is an issue in whats app calling. I have also faced this issue and this resolves my problem.
