Hello all,

Im showing some weird logs on ASR9001, it seems to me a memory leak due to pm_collector process. what is this process and will the restart of the process resolve the issue without impacting the services?

pm_collector[]: %LIBRARY-REPLICATOR-7-MEMORY : Failed to malloc  bytes  : pkg/bin/pm_collector : (PID=) :  -Traceback=

Thank you

Mery

 - Also and as a 'long-term' action ; check current software version on the ASRxxx and look for more recent releases , if any (usually these are software bugs).

Ok thanks for your reply, but for the moment how can I resolve this issue? Can I restart this process without impacting the services? What is this process about?

1. This question is not appropriate to the Wireless - Mobility topic!

2. That message means pm_collector failed to get a memory allocation when it requested it, but does not necessarily mean that pm_collector is the cause of the memory leak.  The Cisco web site has guidance on troubleshooting memory leaks but otherwise you'll need to open a TAC case for detailed analysis of the problem.

3. It is most likely caused by a bug - search the bug tool https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/ for known bugs in your release of software then either install the relevant SMU(s) or new version of code to resolve that bug.
