c1310-k9w7-tar.123-8.JA and WPA encryption

I have set up two 1310 wireless bridges running IOS software version c1310-k9w7-tar.123-8.JA as root and non-root devices. I have also set up WPA encryption but cannot enter any encryption keys. I have done the same configuration before with software version c1310-k9w7-tar.123-7.JA1 on 1310 bridges before and could enter the encryption keys without any problems. Is this a new feature/issue with ths new version of the IOS?

Hi Mike,

Have a look at this info:

authentication key-management

Use the authentication key-management SSID configuration mode command to configure the radio interface (for the specified SSID) to support authenticated key management. Cisco Centralized Key Management (CCKM) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) are the key management types supported on the access point.

authentication key-management { [wpa] [cckm] } [ optional ]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: This command is not supported on bridges.

From this doc:

Cisco IOS Command Reference for Cisco Aironet Access Points and Bridges, 12.3(8)JA

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00806051d4.html#wp2484789

Hope this helps!

Rob

Rob,

Thank you for this helpful information. The last time I configured this I used the GUI and it worked perfectly. I used the CLI to configure it this time with the info you provided. Thanks again.
