C9105AXW-E ap's will not boot

Hello, WLC 9800-CL-40, with software 17.12.6a
The ap's may have been offline for a long time...

The boot process stops, see attachment Boot.txt, and a factory reset does not work, see Reset.txt.

Any suggestions for a solution?

Regards
Johann Folkestad

@HVO-cisco @Enes Simnica suggested re-imaging but not how to do that!

See https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9120axi-access-point/217537-repairing-c9120-c9115-access-points-from.html

That will re-flash the AP to 8.10.130.0 AireOS code (if the AP's flash is still flashable) - otherwise it's a hardware RMA required.
Once that is done you should upgrade it to 8.10.196.0 before attempting to upgrade to 17.12.6a again.

hello @HVO-cisco So, from the logs it looks like the AP is stuck in a boot loop due to a corrupted UBI/UBIFS filesystem (the Error reading superblock on volume 'ubi0:part2' message). Since a full reset already wipes SPI flash but the issue persists, this is unlikely to be recoverable with a normal factory reset. So try some steps:

  • Reimage the AP via ROMMON/U-Boot using TFTP.......

  • If TFTP recovery is not possible or fails, the flash/NAND is likely corrupted and the AP will need RMA/replacement.

hope it helps and PEACE!!

@Rich R
I can not find the 8.10.196.0 image. Can you help me ?
Copy the 8.10.130.0 image worked fine.
