Good morning everybody,
I am trying to add a 1852I AP on a 9120AP with embedded controler C9800.
I upgraded the EWC on the 9120 in version 17.06.01 that support 1850 AP's.
The 9120 AP and EWC works well.
The 1852 AP worked previously on Mobility Express, so I connected through CLI to convert it to capwap with the command "ap-type capwap". After that, the AP send capwap discovery messages to the controler and the controler respond. But the 1852 can't download the capwap image (ap1g4) from the controler because it only have the ap1g7 image available, the one that is used for the 9120AP.
My question is, how can I make the ap1g4 available for my 1852I ?
Thanks a lot for your help

- Note that EWC usually needs an external tftp server (too) for providing ap-images, use search engines with relevant keywords and or as mentioned will quickly guide you to the documentation.

If the network is made up of different AP models, you need to set a Trivial FTP (TFTP) server that can be accessed from the management interface of the EWC. Save the C9800-AP-univesalk9<version>.zip file (unzipped) on the TFTP server.

Unlike a 9800 controller, EWC flash memory does not have enough space to store all AP images. All the AP images need to be hosted on an external TFTP or SFTP server. When a second AP tries to join, EWC will point it to the external server. Without these commands, no other AP will be able to join it:
EWC(config)#wireless profile image-download default EWC(config-wireless-image-download-profile)#image-download-mode tftp EWC(config-wireless-image-download-profile-tftp)#tftp-image-server 192.168.1.25 EWC(config-wireless-image-download-profile-tftp)#tftp-image-path /
