Can't access to Cisco Aironet 1600

Hi guys,

I can't access to my Cisco Aironet 1600 (AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9)

I am planning to use it as a standalone AP.

I tried console port - no success

I assigned IP address with DHCP, it is pingable but neither ssh nor http is not accessible.

Can you please suggest how to resolve this?

Br,

Elbrus

Its a controller based AP.

First you need to convert it Standalone/autonomous mode.

How:

2. http://mrncciew.com/2012/10/20/lightweight-to-autonomous-conversion/

Hi Sandeep,

But I can't access to the AP via console. It is strange. The console cable is working, I checked it with connecting to a switch

Br, Elbrus

Hi,

Use the hyperterminal... and set the baud rated and all top restore defaults. and then try to access..

  • Bits per second: 9600
  • Data bits: 8
  • Parity: None
  • Stop bits: 1
  • Flow control: None

If its not working with one computer then try with other laptop or device.

Regards

Dear Sandeep,

Console cable is working with another cisco switch, why do I need to check on another PC? :)

I did console connection as you suggested, no luck

I asked to test with other PC because sometime we get problem with particular device.

If the Device(LAP) is under warranty or under contract please open up a TAC case with Cisco and They will see if its the HW failure, then will replace the device!!

Did you make sure that flow control is set to none like Sandeeps mentioned?  This is required for wireless and not the switches and is usually the main issue people run into.
