Cannot access AP in Mobility Express Mode via HTTP or HTTPS

gabcg2002
Community Member

Hello,

i just configured my AP in the Mobility Express Mode just with the basic configurations during the Autoinstall process.

I can ping the IP of the AP, but HTTPS access is just not possible. It should be enabled by default, right? I can reach the IP via HTTP, but i can't login with my credentials. After i type them in the "Login-Window" it just refreshes and the Username and password field get empty again. Could it be a Problem with certificates? After a few hours troubleshooting i desited to post here about it. Can someone help me getting HTTP or HTTPS access to my AP/WLC? I have access via SHH and Console, so i can use the command line.

greetings Gabriel

Well spotted @Flavio Miranda
@gabcg2002 as Flavio says it looks like you are getting the OE client page login instead of ME.

What exact model of AP are you using?
Are you sure it is definitely running Mobility Express?
What version did you install?
If running ME (AireOS) then you should be able to do "show sysinfo" on CLI when you SSH or console?

Hi @gabcg2002

Thank you very much @Flavio Miranda

I thought there are the same Login credentials as in SSH.

@Rich R I have an AIR-AP2802I-E-K9 and the Version is 8.5.140.0.

That is not a dedicated OE access point so you must have enabled OE.
When you do that the AP will always present that OE login page on the client side because it's designed to allow the home user to set up their own home internet SSID - effectively turns the AP into something similar to a basic home broadband router.
You cannot run the ME web server at the same time as the OE web server - they will conflict.  And if you're running ME then why do you even want the OE enabled?  I suggest disabling OE or factory default reset the AP to disable it.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/8-5/config-guide/b_cg85/configuring_officeextend_access_points.html

the Version is 8.5.140.0
I should have said did you install CAPWAP or ME software?
Also 8.5.140.0 is rather old now - you should be running the latest 8.5.182.11:
https://software.cisco.com/download/specialrelease/99fb7f05274619819868d4b78406c5fe
or 8.10.185.3:
https://software.cisco.com/download/specialrelease/a78674b40d15dbf248876580c9054728

If your AP is currently running CAPWAP software then you'll need to do the conversion to ME.
