When trying to add AP to controller I'm reviewing the following log as the AP is not able to join the controller

Controller's time and date is incorrect.

Kindly post the complete output to the following commands:

1. WLC: sh sysyinfo;

2. WLC: sh time; and

3. AP: sh version

This is because this is an old log (from november) and we paused the connection because of an internal reason :)

Console into this AP and reboot the AP. Post the entire boot-up process.

The logs show that the AP's a -B domain. This means that you need to be on v8.2 in order for those AP's to join.

But we cannot upgrade the WLC because we have other APs that will not be supported.

I just wanted to inform you guys that i resolved the issue

I downgraded the version of the AP from Version 15.3(3)JC102 to Version 15.3(3)JA5 . At first the downgrade didn't work because of some dump error [Unable to create temp dir "flash:/update"] So I formatted the flash and configured manually the IP/netmask/GW and then booted the AP after extracting the JA5 version .. now its joined and users can connect and surf the internet ..

But I have a question regarding the "ac" radio interface ... its in down state .. its not happening only to this AP .. we have another APs which also the "ac" radio interface in down state .. why ? is this because users are not joining in ac mode ?

If you are looking at the clients connection under monitor, it depends on if the client is AC. Clients need to support AC to connect AC.

You probably should of just upgraded to v8.2 and didn't do what you did also.

Scott's right (below). The AP has the regulatory domain of "-B" so this means the WLC firmware needs an upgrade.
