Hi Team, i like to change the AP Mode from CAPWAP to eWLC on 9105w to perform a Site Survey. I upgraded and converted in every known fashion, following the Guides, but the command "ap-type ewc..." is still not available, in no . Now the AP is associated to a 9800-CL and shows:
9105w#ap-type
capwap Switch to CAPWAP AP type
cloud Switch to cloud AP type
mobility-express Switch to Mobility Express AP type
9105w#ap-type
Does anyone know how to convert this Guy to Catalyst embedded WLC?
Regards, Mike

From the Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller for an AP Data Sheet Refer Table 1
Access points | Cisco Catalyst 9100 Access Points and Aironet® 802.11ac Wave 2 access points (Catalyst 9105AXW and Wave 2 access points operate in client serving mode only) |
9105AXW can't be configured as EWC, but 9105AXI can.

Hi,
your AP need to have 'C' letter at end of partcode. for ex, 9105X-k9C. only that models can configure as mobility express WLCs

Yes, the "w" makes the difference .... Now i have a setup based on 9800-CL in VMWare, 3560CX and the AP.
Thank you All...
