Catalyst 9800 cluster does not failover when losing connectivity

Hello,

I am deploying a catalyst 9800 cluster and trying to make sure the redundancy works as expected.

I noticed when unplugging fibers from the pirmary, no failover happens.

Yet if i completely power down the primary, the failover does happen.

Is this behavior intended ?

Is there a specific setting to configure so that the cluster will failover when losing connectivity ?

Thank you,

Have a nice day.

it should be as expected when the link fails between the pair of devices.

how is your ha network, is there any other devices connected?

i will re-visit the config and check :

Hello,

a couple of questions:

what version of code are you using?

with HA are you using RP or RP + RMI?
when your disconnecting the fiber link is this in the trunk to the switch or the RP port between the controllers?

It looks like this was an issue with the version. after upgrading to 17.1.1s the redundancy works as expected.

then it may be a bug, glad all working now.
