Hi Cisco,
When an 1131 AP is sitting flat, what polarity are the antennae in ??
I believe the antenna on both the 802.11a and 802.11b radio's are simple dipoles ??

when an AP is sitting flat the antennas will be vertically polarised. With a standard dipole antenna you will get an omnidirectional antenna pattern.

Not AP , but the polarization is a term related to the antenna. Polarisation depends on the antenna orientation.
For a vertically polarized antenna, the E-plane usually coincides with the vertical/elevation plane. For a horizontally polarized antenna, the E-Plane usually coincides with the horizontal/azimuth plane.
