Can someone explain why this error keeps popping up, does the AP's need an upgrade?

Firmware version policy violation ( 12.2(15)JA ), AP registered with an Unmanaged WDS 0.0.0.0

Is the AP (supposed to be) part of a WDS?

If not, then uncheck the boxes in the "Wireless Services" screen of the Web GUI.

If it is, then you are missing the parameter (IP address) of the WDS manager (another AP, WLSE ...). Those parameters are set in the same "Wireless Services" screen (don't forget to look at the Tabbed screens).
