All,
one of my customers has 60 of 1252 access-points running lightweight with 4404 Controllers, he is asking if there is such way to downgrade these access points through the controller instead of manual one by one way ?
If yes please how ?
Thanks,

Hi,
I have one suggestion on how you can do this. But you need to do some work in a text editor to compile a list of the access points and convert each line in that text file so it have the command to convert the AP from lightweight to autonomous. Excel might be a tool you can use to make the list.
I have an example from my controller on how you can do this assuming you want to use the software c1250-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JA1.tar.
You need a TFTP server with the image you want to use. In my example the address of the TFTP server is 172.20.10.10.
Make a list and past it in and you will see that the APs are starting to download the image from your TFTP server. After you reboot them they are autonomous.
List your APs and copy the first column with the AP names:
(Cisco Controller) >show ap summary
Number of APs.................................... 2
Global AP User Name.............................. Not Configured
Global AP Dot1x User Name........................ Not Configured
AP Name Slots AP Model Ethernet MAC Location Port Country Priority
------------------ ----- -------------------- ----------------- ---------------- ---- ------- ------
AP01-Livingroom 2 AIR-LAP1252AG-E-K9 00:23:04:b8:f5:ce MV21B, LR 1 NO 1
AP02-BlueRoom 2 AIR-LAP1252AG-E-K9 00:24:14:4f:53:06 Radio Shack 1 NO 1
(Cisco Controller) >
Command for downgrading an AP to the software image you prefere:
(Cisco Controller) >config ap tftp-downgrade 172.20.10.10 c1250-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JA1.tar AP01-Livingroom
Example list you can paste in:
config ap tftp-downgrade 172.20.10.10 c1250-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JA1.tar AP01-Livingroom
config ap tftp-downgrade 172.20.10.10 c1250-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JA1.tar AP02-BlueRoom

André
