Looking at the WSSI datasheet it mentions internal antenna- unlcealr if this is just with 3602i or 3602e as well.
We plan to deploy 3602e in enclusures- hence the external antenna- so the WSSI would be shielded.
Does the WSSI only use it's own internal antenna or is there any option to use external?

The WSSI has it own built in antenna.

The WSSI is compatible to both the 3602i and 3602e.
The dimension of the WSSI will fit within the dimension of the AP. There are no extruding parts.
You can use external antenna for the WSSI.

Thanks for the reply- I understand that physically the WSSI fits both the 3602i and the 3602e, but it there is no external connector how does the WSSI connect to external antenna? Is there an internal diplexer that couples it onto the existing antennae of the 3602e?
This info makes me think otherwise- ie that the WSSI has only internal antenna capability:-
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps12859/ps12867/white_paper_c11-723471.html
"The WSSI module is a completely self-contained wireless radio supporting both the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands with four integrated antennas"
And this shows that the antenna has a different gain ,again indicating that it's internal and not the main antenna

Integrated Antenna | • 2.4 GHz, gain 2.5 dBi, internal omni, horizontal beamwidth 360° • 5 GHz, gain 5.5 dBi, internal omni, horizontal beamwidth 360° |
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps11983/products_tech_note09186a0080bed15d.shtml#rr
"Dedicated 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio with its own antennas that enables 7x24 scanning of all wireless channels in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands."
and "There is no configuration for the WSSI module needed. The module automatically scans all channels on both bands using its 0x4 (receive only) 0 Tx Antennas x 4 Rx Antennas."
Sorry to check again but as I said, the WAP will be in a metal enclosure so i need to be very sure it's not an internal antenna.

Your external antennas will work but I'm not sure about the 802.11ac antenna.

Thanks for confirmation... looks like I'm back to dedicated monitor only WAP's for spectrum then...
