Hi
Please could you advise if i can setup and register a AP1832I-E-K9 access point to a Cisco 3650 switch running the IOS image Cisco IOS Software [Denali], Catalyst L3 Switch Software (CAT3K_CAA-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 16.3.7, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4).

Hi Nitesh,
Yes, you should be able to do that.
However note that Converged Access (WLC functionality within 3650/3850) is no longer supported beyond 16.3.x software version. If you deploy in current setup, you have to keep your switch IOS 16.3.x & no upgrades possible without breaking wireless

Thank you for the response.
I have managed to get 2 out of the 4 access points to Join the Cisco 3650 MC, however the operation state remains down and the Access point is in HREAP mode which says is unsupported on this platform (See below), Could you possibly guide me with the supported IOS version that i could make use of an possibly do upgrades later on.

Hi Nitesh,
This design (converged access) does not support FlexConnect (formally known as HREAP) mode AP. You have to put ap in Local mode.
