Since it's a complete chip set and antennea addition, I don't see how the 1200 can be field upgraded without incuring high costs (only thing left is the plastic housing?) I'd like to see the official Cisco response on the 1200.

I envision wireless changing much like Token>FDDI>ATM>GIGE>10GIGE.

My understanding is that the 1200 uses a modular radio(s), hence it being able to do both a and b/g. So hopefully you could simply replace the radio component and upgrade IOS to provide N capability. The antennea might be another story.

I dont see how a 1200 can be upgraded to 802.11n. First of all the AP chassis has only two antennas, when the standard is talking about using 4 antennas.

Or

May be they could use the 802.11a slot - come up with a pci card that takes two more antennas to fulfill the requirement of four antennas. The radio chip can probably be upgraded once cisco comes up with a 802.11n chip...
