Cisco AP IOS update

hello

I have a question during Cisco AP IOS Upgrade.
I tried upgrading through GUI and I put C9800-AP-iosxe-wlc.bin in and I put ap1g7 in and booted it.
And it does not boot and the log as below appears.

ipv6 gw config loop in AC discovery
CAPWAP State : Disovery
Please use 'archive download-sw ewc-ap' to upgrade or rollback-the controller image.
Please use'show flexconnect ewc-ap lanuch-log' to check EWC-AP launch.log
I've tried using the 'archive download-sw ewc-ap' command, but it hasn't changed.

Do you happen to know how to fix this and how to upgrade the IOS normally?

It is best to follow that path if you want to be sure of success but sometimes it might work upgrading directly but it's a bit of a gamble.  Always refer to the release notes but they rarely cover very old versions (and Cisco don't test that, so it's best to do it in stages to ensure success.

I guess you mean it's now running 8.10.130.0 after u-boot recovery?

The command to install next version (8.10.190.0) is:
AP#archive download-sw /reload tftp://172.19.96.10/ap1g7-k9w8-tar.153-3.JK10.tar

 - Looks to me that the EWC conversion (loading C9800-AP-iosxe-wlc.bin) did not succeed ? For starters is that what you want : concerting to EWC ?

What I want is IOS update.
It has been converted to EWC mode.

The problem is that we can't turn it from ROMMON to the previous version of IOS or update it.

I don't know how to give the AP an IP when I'm in ROMMON even though I'm trying to update the IOS
The TFTP server consists of a laptop.

 - I am not sure if your EWC conversion was correctly executed because of :

I'm trying to reattempt the IOS upgrade by referring to this document, can I know the command to override the IOS with AP on the TFTP server in ROMMON mode?

The copy command is not used.

 - The mentioned document does not need or mention ROMMON ; instead network parameters to get the recovery image are set in the u-boot> prompt ,

Thank you marce!

Thanks to you, the boot was successful!

But I don't know how to upgrade the IOS in the future...

You don't mention what model of AP you are working with but since you are referring to the u-boot recovery guide I assume it is one of the C91xx APs which run AP-COS (ClickOS) not IOS.  This means they do not have ROMMON - only u-boot.  If you follow the instructions in that guide exactly (I have done it, as have many others, and it works) then the AP will be restored to a 8.10.130.0 CAPWAP image.  You should then upgrade it to a 8.10.190.0 (15.3.3-JK10) CAPWAP image, then upgrade to 17.6.6 CAPWAP image (15.3.3-JPK7) and then convert to EWC using the EWC software images.

hello Rich R

After reading the document yesterday
u-boot>reset
The command was issued and the boot was successful.
As you said, do I have to upgrade it sequentially in three ways?
8.10.130.0 --> 8.10.190.0 --> 17.6.6 CAPWAP --> EWC images?
Do you need a total of 3 upgrades?
I tried to convert it to EWC image 17.09.04a at once and failed. Do I have to go through that procedure?
Previously, I tried to convert from 16.12.4a to 17.09.04a, but I failed, so I downloaded a new boot image from u-boot and accessed it, but I'm confused.

hello Rich

I prepared the necessary IOS as you said. It's version 8.10.13.0 now.
AP-type capwap tftp://172.19.96.10 command won't work, any command or reference document?

I guess you mean it's now running 8.10.130.0 after u-boot recovery?
