 8.0 to 8.5 is a huge change. Try upgrade to somthing around 8.3 first.

That is the wrong file.  The filename should have an extension of TAR and not "default".  

But first, you need to clean out the flash by using this command:  delete /f /r flash:.

If you have the TAR file, use this command instead:  archive tar /x tftp://<IP ADDRESS>/filename.tar flash:
