I have a Cisco 2500 Wireless Controller that has 10 AP's (Cisco CAP 2602e's) connected to it from the same subnet. My company recently expanded to a 2nd location with a different subnet. I put a static IP address on the AP for the new location and pointed the AP at the IP address of the controller at the main location. I was able to see the AP in the controller on the new subnet and in the controller, but when I connect to it with my laptop it gives out an IP address of the main location on a different subnet. I didn't setup the environment originally so i'm not sure what I can do to get it to pass out IP for the correct subnet and nothing I am reading talks about another subnet. Can someone point me in the right direction? I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks!

This is the normal behavior, in centralized deployment with WLC, all wireless traffic terminate at WLC. So all centralized WLAN users will get IP from subnets defined on the WLC.
If you want 2nd building users get IP from local to that building, you have to change those AP to FlexConnect mode & enable "local switchig" on the WLAN.

Thank you Rasika, I didn't realize this was normal behavior or that it would even work. I am only using the wireless for a couple of tablets and 'local' mode seems to work just fine. After I saw it had a different IP address I did not test anything, but it does work. I don't believe I will need flexconnect mode, but in case I do I am reading up on it now.
Thanks again for the help.

Turning to Flexconnect mode & map to VLANs you need is best option or else you can create a dynamic interface .. in the WLC with the IP address range you want to use in the different location.
allow the vlan to the ports which is connected to WLC & even to the AP.
