Hey Herbert,

You can check section 8 of the document pieterh refers to. Cisco Spaces Privacy Data Sheet

PDS.jpgYes, in the context of Cisco Spaces, traffic between the local network and the Cisco Spaces Cloud is handled with a focus on data protection and privacy. Cisco Spaces adopts the Cisco Secure Development Lifecycle (CSDL) process designed to ensure the resiliency and trustworthiness of Cisco offerings, while developing new applications or making enhancements to the existing applications.

The solution has also achieved Cloud Approval To Operate (CATO) compliance, which ensures that all secure operations of the Cisco Spaces solution adhere to industry standards and certifications such as ISO 27001 and GDPR. Part of maintaining CATO compliance entails adhering to cybersecurity controls, which include implementing privileged access control mechanisms, authentication and authorization mechanisms, and cryptography controls and encryption mechanisms.

Without specific details on the encryption protocols used by Cisco Spaces, we can infer from the standards and compliance measures (like GDPR and ISO 27001) that the data is most likely encrypted in transit to provide confidentiality and integrity. This is in line with best practices for securing cloud services and safeguarding sensitive data.
