Hi, I have cisco access points models 1602i and 1802i and want to purchase cisco 9800-cl controller.
Does these access points are compatible with and can join the controller or must change the access points to new one?
Thanks.

1602 is not supported in any 9800 platforms, however there is no AP model by 1802i, if you are referring to 1832i then yes it is supported on 9800 platforms and all codes released up to today.
Remember 1602 AP's are EOL and no longer supported by CIsco,1800 AP's are announced EOL and replacement is new Catalyst 9000 series or Cisco Wireless 9000 series AP's.

Hi Eman,
@balaji.bandi has shared the link on his response. Kindly refer the same. If you know which code (software version) you are planing to run in 9800 then you can check on the release notes for that particular code,
