Hi champs,
I have 3 WLC Air-5520-k9 in different location. i want to implement High availbility with AP SSO
total license 150
1- WLC 1 : Building A (50 users)
2- WLC 2 : Building B (50 Users)
3- WLC 3 : Bulding 3 (50 Users)
please confirm me the best design to implement AP SSO to implement redundancy of 3 WLC. AP should automaticall connecto backup controller incase of primary down.
thanks in advance.

Hi,
Could you share any document that suggests the maximum time for that AP register to WLC 1 re-register to WLC 2 incase of WLC 1 down.
It depends .. if you have the same software version between these two WLCs then it will take 2-3 minutes else (IN case of diff software) it may take 10-15 min due to software upgarde .

Best would be to go with Two WLCs and AP/Client SSO.
With Three WLCs SSO will not work.
HA N+1 can work but then you need more license means each WLC must have 150 AP license.

Hi sandeep
Thanks for the reply,
As per requirment we have to consider three WLCs.
can we impelment this design,
Design 1
WLC -1 = 50 ap
WLC -2= 50 ap
WLC -3= BACKUP controller(AP count 1500)
WLC-3 shall be configured as backup for bother WLC 1 and WLC 2 APs
Design 2
Standalone WLC in each location,
WLC -1 = 50 ap
WLC -2= 50 ap
WLC -3 = 50 aP
Question:AP of WLC 1 can connect to WLC 2 incase of WLC 1 down.
thanks in advance

In design 1 and design 2 --> AP /Client SSO is not possiible.
Design 1 looks ok ..
Design 2 looks not correct to me because if WLC1 & 2 is down at same time then you will not have enough license on WLC3.
Question:AP of WLC 1 can connect to WLC 2 incase of WLC 1 down.
Answer: No because you dont have enough license on WLC2.

Hi Sandeep,
Thanks for your Support,
so if i increase my licence count to 100 on each WLC
WLC 1= 100 (usage 50)
WLC 2= 100 (usage 50)
WLC 3= 100 (usage 50)
so they can support each other if incase of one of them is down. if two of them down then it will not work.
Could you share any document that suggests the maximum time for that AP register to WLC 1 re-register to WLC 2 incase of WLC 1 down.
thanks in advance
