Cisco WLC Aireos 5508 IRCM 8.5.176.2 Mobility Group 9800L 17.9.4a

Dear All,

I have configured a Mobility Group between a WLC 5508 with 8.5.176.2 IRCM, and a WLC 9800 with 17.9.4a.

The mobility Group status is UP.

But in the Mobility Peer Configuration, I see that the 9800 status is N/A is it a problem?

Then I start to study the way how a client will be roam between the two WLC, that are on the same subnet, on this document:

But when I check the "Guidelines and Restrictions" paragrps I see that the WLC 5508 is not in the list, of platforms that are supported for SDA Inter-Controller Mobility (AireOS controller–to-Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controller

• Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controller

  • Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controller for Cloud

  • Cisco Catalyst 9800-L Wireless Controlle

If this is true, how the IRCM realese works on 5508 for the clients roaming?

  - Note sure , but for starting ; have  a checkup of the 9800 configuration with the CLI command show tech wireless ; and feed the output into  Wireless Config Analyzer

Also note you should upgrade the AireOS 5508 WLC to 8.5.182.108 (link below).
